 Memphis has earned the reputation as “America’s Distribution Center” based on a deep
pool of skilled logistics workers, extensive transportation resources, centralized
geographic location and a regional economic emphasis to provide strategic global platform that
expands all phases of Memphis tri state area’s supply chain services.
The region’s outstanding
Interstate Highway system, major land, air and water transportation resources and cooperative
business climate have been instrumental reasons major corporations have made strategic decisions
to locate facilities in the area. Additionally, local leaders have targeted bioscience,
logistics and distribution, manufacturing, corporate office and music, film and tourism for
special economic development emphasis.
CWC Logistics entered the
Memphis third party logistics market in 2006 when an existing partner in five other cities identified a need in the area and
selected CWC to expand into the tri state region. Within weeks of being selected, CWC leased space,
obtained material handling equipment, hired and trained a logistics team, assisted with the installation
of IT and racking systems and began receiving product.
Other short term and long term projects
have been successfully implemented in the area with standard warehouse operations and a wide variety of value
added services. Domestic and imported goods/services are incorporated following written processes that are
measured for quality and value. Internal and external KPI’s are measured, reported and available utilizing
CWC’s in-house WMS utilizing controlled access to our online data.
