In June 1971, Don Parrish, Sr. and Cecil Rhoades used their considerable
experience in commercial and industrial transportation business and
founded Commercial Warehouse and Cartage, Inc. Shortly thereafter,
current Owner and President, Gregg Parrish, was hired as the first
warehouse team member. Gregg's initiation into the warehouse business
on the floor, on the forklift, in the truck, at the customer service
desk and dealing directly with the clients planning and execution
functions, laid the foundation for management involvement and accountability
that has permeated 35 years of growth and expansion.
Customer satisfaction and reliance on our "hands on", "do
it right the first time", led to expansion beyond Fort Wayne.
New geographic areas were added as clients asked us to establish
or take over operations through out the Midwest, East and Southwest & Southeast.

Other
key components leading to CWC's expansion included a willingness
to go beyond standard contractual relationships and provide extensive
kitting, light manufacturing, specialty packaging, quality assurance
and reverse logistics activities, long before it became a widely
accepted warehouse function, particularly as third partly logistics
management function.

CWC's primary focus has involved adding value to high velocity,
complex, time sensitive, customer critical supply chain activities.
Initially,
outstanding execution was the primary component of a successful
distribution operation where CWC has excelled. In today's
third party environment,
the bar has been raised, requiring CWC to provide supply chain
partners with strategic initiatives of expanded service,
customer compliance,
and industry specific quality measures with associated reporting
requirements. CWC has excelled by creating written processes and
validated performance measurements that led to individual clients
being rewarded with:

9000 Certification
- On
four occasions Vendor of the Year by two different mass
retail organizations
- FDA

From
the beginning, CWC has maintained the philosophy "Customer
is King"! This positive "can do, will do" attitude
remains the focus of the CWC Dedicated Team. Continued process improvement,
utilizing key performance indicators as management tools and a proactive
approach to meet and exceed customer expectations is a differentiation
found at CWC Logistics.
By every measurement, CWC Logistics has been successful. The best
measurement is revealed by the number of long term clients with multiple
divisions, operating from multiple CWC locations. Controlled growth
will be predicated on CWC being large enough to be effective and
small enough to be nimble. We will continue the use of resource alliances
that truly add value, based on the specific criteria and requirements
of each existing supply chain partner and future logistics management
opportunity.

Team Members of CWC must be open minded and willing to learn new
methodology, present and accept change, and facilitate team and personal
growth.
COMMUNICATION - UP, DOWN AND SIDEWAYS TOO!
All Team Members must be able to communicate concerns, issues and
ideas without the fear of retaliation. Issues are to be resolved
through communication. Talk about it, get it resolved and go on
with pursuing further goals.
CIVILITY - RESPECTING ONE ANOTHER
Simply put, we should follow the Golden Rule. We will have consideration
for our fellow team member, maintaining or improving each other’s
self esteem and self worth and interacting in a civil, polite and
business like manner at all levels.
